Services: Search Engine Optimisation

SEO

SEO means getting lots of people, who have an interest in your services, to visit your website from search engines like Google and Bing. The higher your website appears on search engines, the more visitors you'll get. SEO can target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.

Here's how we go about doing SEO for our clients.

Current website performance - Using several SEO tools, Chroma analyses multiple characteristics of your current site to determine broadly what changes can be made to increase search engine ranking.

Keyword identification - We have a look at your services in order to formulate several major keyword categories that your services can be divided into. We then have a brainstorming sessions to come up with an extensive lists of words to associate with these categories. One, two, three and sometimes more words (often referred to as long-tail keywords) are strung together to form phrases that could be typed into search engines. These combinations of keywords, which may number several hundred, are analysed on search engines to see how popular they are. We also take a peak at your competitors to see which words are working for them.

Keyword selection - By assigning weighted attributes to every keyphrase, we are able to calculate how attractive and effective they will be for optimisation purposes.

Keyword testing - Once several major keyphrases have been identified, Chroma will then set up a Google Adwords campaign and link these phrases to various adverts that will appear on the top and right hand side of the Google search result pages under 'Sponsored links'. When a user searches for those specific keyphrases they will see the advert along with other results. By clicking on the advert users will be directed to a relevant page on your website. Chroma will monitor all Google Adword campaigns to see which phrases perform the best and ensure excellent position on the result pages.

Writing website content - Having now identified and tested various keywords and phrases, Chroma incorporates these into the website text and makes sure that it is easy and informative to read while at the same time easy for search engines to index.

Sitemaps, anchor text and other technical aspects - A site map provides a quick method for search engines to index (collect information about) multiple pages on your website. Chroma will help develop this sitemap for your website and submit it to search engines.

Anchor text for internal, inbound and outbound links can have a substantial impact on search engine rankings. Chroma will make recommendations on how these can be optimised using keywords and phrases identified earlier in the process.

Attention will also be given to other coding aspects of your website such as meta tags and alternate tags for images and other objects.

Outbound links - are links from your website to other websites. Search engines do not assign as much importance to outbound links as they do to inbound links but it is still important for these to be relevant and that the pages to which you link have a high page rank themselves. Chroma will investigate these and make recommendations.

Inbound links - are links from other websites to your website. Search engines assign a very high value to these kinds of links as long as they are relevant to your website and carry a high Page Rank value themselves. Chroma will help identify and build relationships with website owners who will benefit from linking to your site and will add to your own Page Rank.

Monitoring and tweaking - Optimising a website is a lengthy process and the advantages may only be realised months into the process. For this reason, Chroma will monitor the progress of the website on search engine results pages for the chosen keywords and recommend changes as needed.

How much does it cost?

There is no set formula for determining the cost of SEO as each business has its own needs. We therefore assess each of our customers on an individual basis to come to a figure that meets your budget and is sufficient to achieve your goals.
